Membership Criteria
- Active members– Spouses of all active duty, reserve, or retired officers, living or deceased, in the United States Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard who have served or are serving on a submarine or at a submarine support command (e. g., naval bases, training facilities, maintenance facilities, tenders, rescue vessels, escort vessels and security forces that support submarines).
- Associate members– Spouses of all active duty, reserve, or retired United States military officers, living or deceased, who have not served on a submarine or at a submarine support command, as well as spouses of foreign naval officers, and spouses of civil-service GS-8 and above. Associate members also include significant others of active-duty service members as verified by their command.
How to Join
Individuals meeting the criteria for membership may join the organization by filling out the membership form and paying dues. Instruction and a link for dues payments are provided upon completion of the form.
The cost of the membership is $35 (August 1 – July 31). Dues for members joining after March 15th are $15. Dues can be paid on-line or make checks payable to SOSA-WA and bring it to a function or mail it to:

Benefits of Joining
Active members shall be entitled to privileges of SOSA-WA including, but not limited to:
- voting, nominating, holding an office, and chairing a committee
- attending specialized group educational tours such as the Trident Training Facility (TTF)
- discounted admission to planned social events (ceramic painting, sports games, etc.)
- access to comprehensive lists of area vetted babysitters and local businesses and organizations that help with various needs
