Oktoberfest, A Time for Community Building
SOSA-WA hosted its annual Oktoberfest event on October 22, 2022 at the Sons of Norway in Poulsbo, WA. Attendees were encouraged to break out their lederhosen and dirndls, have fun, and celebrate the submarine community in WA. Oktoberfest 2022 had significant turn-out, with over 200 individuals in attendance.
The event included a German-themed dinner and activities, such as a costume contest and corn hole. As the submarine community in WA emerges from the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic, this event was a great opportunity to socialize and build morale.
SOSA-WA want to thank Oktoberfest Event Chair, Leah Baugh, for all of her hard work in organizing the event. Not only did Leah organize this successful community-wide event, she also made many food items, including homemade pretzels. SOSA-WA also wants to thank its members who helped and contributed to the event.
Information about Oktoberfest 2023 will be available on the website in early to mid – 2023.
